In today’s Exponential Investor…
- Rick owes me a cocktail
- The commodities bull market has already started – it is just taking a hiatus
- Waiting for stocks to be cheap pays off
- What’s the one thing about commodity investing Rick wants you to know?
“You owe me a cocktail,” is, perhaps, not the first thing you say to a commodities investing legend. Yet I’ve never been one to miss a free drink.
I’m fortunate that today’s guest has a good sense of humour and remembered his promise from 2020.
Rick Rule has made a name for himself over the past four decades investing in junior resource companies when they are most despised.
He’s not interested in resources in the hype cycle: rather he looks for stocks that have great management and a great prospect. It is even better when the companies are focusing on a commodity generally unloved by the market.
In today’s Exponential Investor podcast, Rick and I talk about the energy crisis gripping Europe, why multi decades of underinvestment will see a multi-decade commodity bull market, the four books every investor should read and… exactly how I can claim my free drink.
Also, if you would like to join Rick and me for the Rule Symposium virtually (or even better, in person) click here to see how you can.

That’s all from me this week: I’ll be back next week with more.
Until next time,
