Did bitcoin lead the market lower this week?

Did the market lead bitcoin lower this week?

Depends on where you get your “ news” from.

These were just two of the narratives in the media this week. Truth is the market was just ready for a good old-fashioned shakeout.

Now this might be the start of the end of the music. Or if Jerome Powell has much to do with it, we could be in the mix for at least another couple of years of it all.

What you can’t deny is that this week the market, in particular tech and special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) stocks, took a hammering.

The kinds of single-day losses we saw on Tuesday were once reserved for crypto, or stocks that were on the verge of bankruptcy.

Daily volatility like this is now part and parcel of the stock market, of all markets. It’s a wild, volatile world for your investments and just the liberties of your day-to-day life.

In this week’s podcast we take aim at the big falls in SPACs, asking the question, is this it? We consider how it impacts and flows on to other areas of the market and consider that maybe “old energy” isn’t as dead as some might think.

We also consider just how diversified investors are and how they should be thinking about risk. It promises to be an insightful chat about what is a high-risk, high-reward time in the market right now.
